Completed a comprehensive hydronic mechanical upgrade at the Robert F. Peckham Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse.
The scope of work included the installation of high-efficiency boilers, chillers, hydronic pumps, and a building management system (BMS) to modernize the facility’s mechanical systems. Two York centrifugal water chillers (310-ton capacity each) and three Lochinvar Crest FBN1001 gas-fired condensing boilers (999 MBH each) were installed to improve energy efficiency and system performance. Grundfos MAGNA-3 and Bell & Gossett heating hot water pumps were incorporated to support the upgraded boiler system. The hydronic system also included six Bell & Gossett e-1510 centrifugal pumps, each selected for specific flow and head requirements. A new BMS was furnished and installed to provide integrated HVAC instrumentation and controls. Extensive hydronic piping modifications were made to the chilled water, condenser water, and heating hot water systems. Final testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) was performed in accordance with NEBB standards. All work was executed in an occupied federal facility, adhering to strict GSA security protocols, California seismic codes, and sustainability standards.
